Corsair has just announced two new PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs to their storage lineup, called MP600 PRO and MP600 CORE respectively.
The higher-end MP600 PRO is equipped with the latest Phsion PS5018-E18 memory controller and 3D TLC NAND flash. It can achieve sequential read/write speeds at up to 7000 MB/s and 6550 MB/s, via the PCIe 4.0×4 interface. IOPS numbers can reach to 800,000 in read and 660,000 in write. It has a rated MTBF of 1.7 million hours and endurance from 700 TBW to 1400 TBW.
The less powerful MP600 CORE uses the same, older PS5016-E16 controller, found in the original MP600 SSD. It is capable of having maximum sequential read/write speeds at 4950 MB/s and 3950 MB/s. IOPS numbers decrease to 580,000 and 630,000. Performance-wise, there are not much differences from the MP600, but the use of 3D QLC NAND flash should help bring the price down. It has a rated MTBF of 1.8 million hours and endurance from 225 TBW to 900 TBW.
Both SSDs come with a decently-sized aluminium heatsink to prevent thermal throttling. There is an additional water-cooled version for the MP600 PRO, named the Hydro X Edition. You can choose to have the MP600 CORE in 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB capacity (MSRP $154.99 USD, $309.99 USD, $644.99 USD); or MP600 PRO in 1 TB and 2 TB (MSRP $224.99 USD, $434.99 USD). All models are provided with a 5-year warranty. They can now be purchased on retailers and distributors.
