ADATA unveils the new SPECTRIX S20G PCIe NVMe SSD under the XPG gaming brand, the main feature of which is the aggressive RGB lighting. The X-shaped LEDs/diffusers spread across nearly the whole length of the drive.
The company does not disclose the memory controller and type of the 3D NAND flash (TLC/QLC) used on the SPECTRIX S20G. Via the PCIe 3.0×4 interface, the SSD is claimed to have maximum sequential read/write speeds of 2500 MB/s and 1800 MB/s, which are not very impressive by today’s standards. Random 4K performance tops at 160,000 IOPS for read and 190,000 IOPS for write.
The SPECTRIX S20G is available in two capacities only, 500 GB and 1 TB. All models have a rated MTBF of 2 million hours and come with a 5-year warranty. No pricing information are provided yet.
