It has been an exciting week, which another new record-breaking SSD is released to the market. TEAMGROUP launches the world’s largest consumer-grade SSD at a whopping 15.3 TB capacity, called the QX.
The QX is a SATA-based 2.5-inch SSD. The drive is fitted with 3D QLC NAND flash, which is part of the reason why it can have such a high capacity. It can achieve sequential read/write speeds at up to 560 MB/s and 460 MB/s respectively. Both DRAM and SLC caching are available on the SSD. TEAMGROUP has rated the QX to have write endurance at around 2560 TBW.
The 15.3 TB QX SSD does not come cheap either. It can be purchased with a 3-year warranty at $3990 USD (MSRP), which the drive alone can cost more than an average person’s whole computer.
