Yet another new NVMe SSD is announced this month, this time from ADATA. The XPG GAMMIX S50 Lite is the second PCIe 4.0 drive from the company, which was originally teased in CES 2020.
Different from the GAMMIX S50, the S50 Lite is equipped with a mid-tier 4-channel Silicon Motion SM2267 memory controller. It has a PCIe 4.0×4 interface and supports for the latest NVMe 1.4 protocol. We do not know whether 3D TLC or QLC NAND flash will be used. The SSD is able to achieve sequential read/write speeds up to 3900 MB/s and 3200 MB/s. 4K random performance can range from 490,000 to 540,000 IOPS.
The S50 Lite comes in 1 TB or 2 TB capacity. ADATA rated the 2 TB model to have an endurance of 1480 TBW. Both are backed by a 5-year warranty. No pricing and availability information has been provided at the moment.
