AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 5700-series graphics cards, which are the first batch of cards based on the new Navi micro-architecture, are planned to release on 7th July, alongside the 3rd Generation Ryzen processors. However, AMD cuts the prices of the cards right before the official launch date, possibly because of competitions from NVIDIA’s newly announced RTX SUPER-series cards.
According the AMD’s internal testings, they claim the RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 will match or exceed the existing RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 graphics card in performance. With the introduction of the RTX SUPER-series cards from NVIDIA, AMD will have to compete against more capable cards in the same price range.
AMD announces on its social media, including Facebook and Twitter, that they are lowering the prices of the new RX 5700-series graphics cards. The RX 5700 will be priced at $349 USD, instead of $379 USD, which is on par with the RTX 2060. The RX 5700 XT will decrease from $449 USD to $399 USD, just like the RTX 2060 SUPER. The RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary edition will sit at $449 USD.
