Apacer announces new NVMe SSD for its “Panther” Gaming series. Unlike the previous AS2280P4, the new AS2280P2 Pro NVMe SSD utilizes a PCIe 3.0×2 interface and NVMe protocol version 1.2.
The AS2280P2 Pro SSDs offer three different capacities using 3D TLC NAND flash, from 120 GB to 480 GB. It is advertised to achieve sequential read/write speeds at 1580 MB/s and 950 MB/s, with random performance of over 92000 IOPS. One interesting feature of the SSD is the “battle armor” heatsink, which the panther logo on top will change from orange to gold if temperature increases.
Similar to the AS2280P2, we can expect the AS2280P2 Pro SSD to have rated MTBF at around 1.5 million hours and a standard 3-year warranty. At this moment, pricing and availability are not provided.
