The new unlocking method of the iPhone X, called Face ID. It combines a couple of sensors on top of the phone. Face ID constructs the depth maps of the faces using machine learning. The neural engine is built into the A11 chip. All data is stored on the phone.
1 in 50,000 for Touch ID, 1 in 1,000,000 for Face ID about the inaccuracy of unlocking. Face ID can be used for Apple Pay and other third-party apps.

iPhone X (ten) is released. Silver and Black color is available. The 5.8-inch OLED display is called the Super Retina Display, with 468 ppi. The display is also HDR and True-Tone supported. Without the home button, the iPhone X uses multiple gestures to control. The side button can used to call Siri.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus can now shoot better video, and 1080p 240 fps slow motion video. Wireless charging is supported on the new iPhones, using Qi standard. All Qi certified wireless charger can be used by the new iPhones.
The iPhone 8’s starting at $699 USD (64GB and 256GB), and the iPhone 8 Plus at $799 USD (64GB and 256GB). Pre-order starts on 15 September and ships on 22 September. iOS 11 is available on 19 September.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are introduced (new gold color), with A11 Bionic chip and a new Apple-designed GPU. The SoC has two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores.
The new Retina HD displays are better and have True-Tone support.
Both phones have new and improved camera sensors. The iPhone 8 Plus has a new Portrait Light mode, that changes the lighting effects of the photos (simulating studio-like lighting).
