Computex 2019: Corsair Announces New MP600 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Corsair MP600 NVMe SSD

With the introduction of the 3rd Generation Ryzen processors and X570 motherboards, AMD has officially moved towards PCIe 4.0 interfaces on mainstreams products. Now, Corsair also announce one of the first PCIe 4.0 compatible NVMe SSDs in the market, the Force Series MP600.

Because of the doubled theoretical bandwidth from the PCIe 4.0 interface, the MP600 can reach sequential read/write speeds at 4950 MB/s and 4250 MB/s respectively. This kind of performance is almost 10 times faster than even SATA-based SSDs. The drive will be running on a PCIe 4.0×4 interface, which will also be compatible with existing PCIe 3.0 systems.

The MP600 SSD is using the Phison PS5016-E16 controller, paired with 3D TLC NAND flash. It has a large heatsink on top to prevent components from overheating. The capacities (the controller supports from 512 GB up to 2 TB), endurance ratings and prices are yet to announce, but the drive is expected to release in July this year.
