be quiet! has unveiled its upcoming single-tower CPU cooler, called the Dark Rock Slim. The new cooler is more compact than the existing Dark Rock 4 and Dark Rock Pro 4, which will be available for purchase in the middle of May this year.
The Dark Rock Slim is rated to handle processors with TDP up to 180 watts. It uses four 6 mm copper heat pipes to transfer heat to the aluminum fin stacks. A Silent Wings 3 120 mm fan is responsible for generating the required airflow. The heatsink is designed with wave-contoured fins to increase air circulation. A second fan can also be added to increase cooling performance.
The whole cooler assembly, including the fan, has a height of 159.4 mm, width of 127 mm and depth of 72 mm. It should provide excellent memory clearance. The Dark Rock Slim is compatible with most modern CPU sockets from both AMD and Intel, such as LGA 115x, LGA 2066 and AM4.
The Dark Rock Slim will start shipping on 14 May globally. It will be priced at $59 USD/£54.99 GBP (MSRP).
