At Seagate’s virtual gaming event (SG21), the company launches the new FireCuda 530 PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD, which will be the successor of the existing FireCuda 520.
The FireCuda 530 is available in four capacities, from 500 GB to 4 TB. The drive is powered by a “Seagate-validated” Phison PS5018-E18 memory controller and 3D TLC NAND flash. It can reach maximum sequential read/write speeds at 7000 MB/s and 6900 MB/s. Random 4K performance tops at 1,000,000 IOPS. The 1 TB and 500 GB models have slower write speeds at 6000 MB/s and 3000 MB/s respectively. You can choose to have an additional heatsink, designed by EKWB, on the SSD to prevent thermal throttling.
All models comes with a 5-year warranty and a 3-year Rescue Data Recovery Service plan. They have rated endurance from 640 TBW to 5100 TBW, and 1.8 million hours of MTBF. The FireCuda 530 is priced at $139.99 USD (500 GB), $239.99 USD (1 TB), $489.99 USD (2 TB) and $949.99 USD (4 TB) (MSRP). Adding the heatsink will cost around $20 USD to $50 USD more.
